Our mission is to help provide a lifeline - keeping seniors independent and connected to the community. We make it possible for older people to enjoy the freedom of living in the familiar surroundings of their own cherished apartments. We befriend our older neighbors, and celebrate their individuality and spirit.
STUDENTS ARE WELCOME
You don't have to be over 18 to join us. We welcome high school and college students, either through school-sponsored activities, or individual participation.
There's a special person waiting to meet you. Over our many years of matching volunteers and seniors, we've heard some unique requests. The more you tell us about yourself, the easier it will be for us to find the right match for you.
Whether you can make a commitment of a few hours every week, or just help out occasionally, there are many ways for you to become involved with the elderly community. You can volunteer weekly and be matched with one senior, or if you'd prefer, you can be designated as "on call."
We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, race, religion, sexual preference, or lifestyle. If you would like to help seniors as they face the challenges of aging alone in New York City, we will find a way for you to volunteer.
We can always use extra help with special events.
