    Overview

The BVI is a location where VISIONS volunteers have been making a difference for more than three decades. Volunteer work is focused on local schools and environmental initiatives. When we're not working, we're taking in the island's natural wonders through SCUBA, swimming, hikes and spending time with friends whose Afro-Caribbean heritage spans many generations.

In addition to our summer programs for teens, VISIONS runs high quality, GROUP volunteer travel programs for schools, clubs, families and others who want to travel with the spirit of community service, cultural immersion and adventure. Groups that join VISIONS in the British Virgin Islands become part of a legacy spanning three decades of projects that serve the Afro-Caribbean community of Virgin Gorda, where we live in a humble community center overlooking the ocean. We do carpentry and other labor projects at under-resourced schools and parks, and also help with local youth programs. After-work activities include exploring under-water life at the many beaches, scuba diving, hikes to gorgeous vistas, community barbecues, local cuisine cooking workshops, and lots of fun. VISIONS group volunteer programs can be customized for durations of one to four weeks and are open to people of all ages. Learn more on our website or by calling the VISIONS office at 406-551-4423.
