    Overview

Reading Partners' mission is to help children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results. Reading Partners Colorado currently serves students in 13 schools in Denver.

Reading Partners has been a part of the Colorado educational landscape since 2012, when Mile High United Way leveraged a federal Social Innovation Fund grant to help ensure more Colorado children could read proficiently by third grade.

We’ve paired thousands of community volunteers in low-income schools to help kids master basic reading skills and narrow their achievement gaps. Our one-on-one tutoring empowers students to succeed while simultaneously empowering volunteers to make a lasting difference in our community through individualized personal attention to each student in our program.

Together with our schools, Reading Partners focuses on students who are at least one month behind in reading, harnessing the power of community volunteers to provide individualized instruction to help them master the reading fundamentals they need to reach grade level.

Our trained, committed community volunteers work one-on-one with these students, delivering a simple, proven curriculum each week to help the child begin to gain lost ground.

Working one-on-one with their tutors, students who were once struggling in many subjects become proud, confident readers, excited about learning and ready for success.

We are currently accepting in-person volunteers in Colorado:

    • Tutor a student once per week
    • No experience required
    • All tutoring materials, lessons, and training will be provided by Reading Partners
