Teens... VOLUNTEER with Lion’s Heart!
Lion’s Heart is a national nonprofit founded in 2004 that empowers teens in grades 6–12 to lead with compassion and make a difference in their communities. Members gain access to local volunteer opportunities, build leadership skills, and earn service awards — all while creating a strong community service portfolio for college and beyond. Lion’s Heart is non-secular and 100% fundraising-free, focused entirely on giving back.
How It Works
- Join as an individual member or with a group (mixed or same-gender options)
- Start as early as May 1 of your 5th-grade year (or anytime after)
- Volunteer anytime, anywhere — virtually or in-person — on your schedule
- Group members meet up to six times per year, elect officers, and decide together how to serve
- Track all your volunteer hours in one place and share verified records with colleges via Parchment
- Parent involvement is encouraged but not required
- Already volunteering elsewhere? Hours from other service organizations (like Scouts or church groups) count toward your Lion’s Heart record!
