    Overview

The Jewish Relief Agency brings together individuals of all means, ages and backgrounds to address our community’s physical, social and spiritual needs, satisfying our unique desire to take care of each other and do good in the world. Built on the foundation of our monthly food distribution, our programs relieve the pangs of hunger, bring meaning to our recipients and volunteers, and build a caring and connected community.

Thursday & Fridays (Groups Only): Packing

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Volunteers will pack boxes of food and other critical household supplies. This is a great opportunity for team building and for small and large groups to come volunteer at JRA. For more information about JRA’s volunteer schedule, please visit https://jewishrelief.org/calendar. Sundays: Packing & Delivering

    Produce Packing: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Assist with packing fresh produce to be included in the JRA food boxes.

    JRA Juniors: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

A reserved hour for families with young children under the age of 12 to pack boxes of kosher pantry staples, produce, and household supplies using push carts.

All Ages Packing: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to pack kosher pantry staples, produce, and household supplies into the JRA boxes in our food-packing assembly line. Volunteers will either carry boxes down the line to be filled, or hand out food and other items to be placed into the box.

    Route Delivery: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

JRA’s model of food delivery allows recipients to receive assistance directly to their door, alleviating some of the challenges they may face, such as transportation, language barriers, or access. Volunteers will choose a delivery route that can have anywhere from 1 to 15 addresses. Deliveries may be to individual homes, garden-style apartment complexes, or high-rise apartment buildings. Volunteers will arrive at the JRA warehouse and proceed through our drive-thru where they will receive instructions and the items for their delivery. Volunteers are more than welcome to deliver a route after packing in the warehouse. The average delivery time is about 1 hour.

Groups are welcome at all of our Sunday Distribution shifts. For more information about JRA’s volunteer schedule, please visit https://jewishrelief.org/volunteer-calendar. For more information about JRA’s volunteer opportunities, please visit https://jewishrelief.org/volunteer-programs-1.
