    Overview

Fernbank's mission is to ignite a passion for science, nature and human culture through exploration and discovery. The Fernbank Youth Interpreters (FYI) Program offers teens ages 13-17 the chance to engage in public events and education at Fernbank Museum.

Volunteers commit to at least one year and provide a minimum of 45 service hours from June through May of the following year. FYI volunteers use interpretive carts to share knowledge about biology, archaeology, and paleontology, assist with camps, Discovery Days, Animal Care, and participate in special projects, including behind-the-scenes experiences.
