Family House serves as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by providing physical comfort and emotional support, free from financial concerns.
Volunteers play a pivotal role in the success of our mission by assisting our staff in providing a safe and comfortable home for families in crisis. We rely on over 4,000 volunteers per year, and we need your help! We work with each volunteer to make sure your time is used efficiently and productively.
We welcome individuals of all ages, including  high school students and Service Learning students from USF, City College, and other Bay Area schools. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least three months of regular shifts in the house or office. Opportunities include helping with meals, providing office support, or sharing a special talent — like therapy dog visits, entertainment, yoga, massage therapy, and more.
