    Overview

In one major city, as many as ? of low-income people who menstruate struggle to afford period products like tampons and pads, and these products are some of the most-needed items in homeless shelters. Collect unopened packages of period products and donate them to a local homeless shelter. You’ll earn verified volunteer credits and will be entered for the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship, not to mention inspire others with your efforts.

This campaign is part of DoSomething’s Strength Through Service program, where you can strengthen your community, be considered for a scholarship and earn verified volunteer hours. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of creating a Beloved Community--one that requires acts of service based on justice and equal opportunities. Let's work together to bring Dr. King's vision to life. As the largest not-for-profit exclusively for young people and social change, DoSomething’s millions of members represent every US area code and 131 countries. Using our digital platform, DoSomething members join our volunteer, social change, and civic action campaigns to make real-world impact on causes they care about.
