    Overview

Citymeals on Wheels is a New York-based organization that provides a continuous lifeline of nutritious food and human company to homebound older New Yorkers in need, thereby helping them to live with dignity in their own familiar homes and communities.

Thousands of older New Yorkers would be alone and hungry without Citymeals and our dedicated volunteers. Last year, nearly 18,000 volunteers gave over 25,000 hours of their time to their older neighbors. Volunteers help with meal delivery meal packing, shop & assist programs, making handmade cards, and more!

We welcome volunteers of all ages. If a person under the age of 16 would like to deliver meals, he or she must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers must be 18 or older to participate in our Social Call Program. From delivering meals to making social calls, Citymeals offers volunteer opportunities to suit all types of schedules and interests.
