Do you know a teen who will be a rising 9th-12th grader this summer? Encourage them to apply for our Generation Connect Service Camp, a week-long summer camp at A.G. Rhodes Cobb in Marietta!
Generation Connect is a unique summer camp that promotes intergenerational relationships between teens and elders. This week-long experience includes oral history projects, fun social activities, workshops to learn about careers in healthcare and more!
During the week experience, students will:
- Volunteer in all activities and programs at the nursing home
- Earn service hours towards graduation or club requirements (up to 30 hours!)
- Form friendships across different generations
- Learn from the extraordinary life histories and experiences of our community’s elders
- Engage in meaningful activities that will enhance a college application
- Gain a greater understanding of Aging in America
- Learn about various careers in healthcare and volunteer alongside industry experts
- Make new friends and have fun!
Applicants must:
- Be a rising 9th to 12th grade student
- Complete an application
- Attend each day of camp
- Have reliable transportation to/from camp each day
- If 18 years old, pass a fingerprint background check
- Agree to follow all infectious disease guidelines in place, if any, at the time of camp
