    Overview

    H.E.L.P. - Exploring Health and Medicine is a hands-on residential program for any high school students ages 14-17 with an interest in pursuing a healthcare related major or a career as a doctor, nurse, physician assistant, physical therapist, phlebotomist, EMT/Paramedic, or other healthcare related profession. 

    Students will live in a residence hall on campus for a week, attend classes taught by University professors during the day , eat meals in the dining commons, and be able to participate in fun evening activities typical on a college campus such as movie nights, game nights, and more.

    Hands-on activities will be a significant part of the student's learning experience. These will include but are not limited to activities such as diagnostic ultrasound lab, suture lab, splinting lab, taping session, CPR certification, EMT simulation, geriatrics training session, nursing simulations, field trip to Baystate Hospital,  and more!

    Typical Day Schedule:

    • 8:30am: Breakfast
    • 9:30am - 12pm: Classes with breaks
    • 12pm: Lunch
    • 1:00 - 4:30pm: Classes with breaks
    • 5:30pm: Dinner
    • 6:30pm: Evening social activities
