    Overview

Located just outside of Philadelphia, PA, Upper Darby Summer Stage has been delighting audiences with affordable live theater for over 40 years. Each summer, UDPAC invites local students and young theater professionals to participate in the theatre camp Summer Stage, performing seven professional-quality shows in six weeks.

Children’s Theatre – Finishing 8th Grade* through High School

We’ve got Magic Up Our Sleeve for all participants in our Children’s Theatre productions!

Children’s Theatre participants rehearse a fully staged and costumed children’s musical and will perform for thousands of people. Auditions are not required for participation but are necessary for leading roles. Membership in the Children’s Theatre program is open to students who are finishing 8th grade through 11th grade or who have completed the 2021 Rising Stars program.

You will be assigned to a show and will have a 3-4 week schedule of rehearsals and performances. Rehearsals are held in the morning from 9 am to 12 (noon) and in the afternoons from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. There will be one Sunday rehearsal for each show. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided at the first cast meeting. While you may not be needed all day every day, we have worked to plan as many full day schedules as possible to maximize your time at the Performing Arts Center.

Participants will be assigned to a cast after registration and will be notified by mail the week of March 28th.Please do not contact the Box Office for assignments.

Dance Troupe is now a separate registration. You may register for it after you complete this registration.

Participants must be 14 years of age or finished 8th grade by the previous summer, or must have participated in Children’s Theater last year. Members who have completed one full session of the Rising Stars Program may enter Children’s Theater at age 13 but are limited to one show. Participants will be assigned to a cast after registration and will be notified by mail. Please do not call the Box Office for assignments. First meetings for each cast are on the first date listed below.
