    Overview

The Women in Engineering Program is excited to offer a virtual summer program geared toward high school-aged women, although it's open to anyone considering a major in engineering and potentially pursuing it as a career.  This week-long virtual program will introduce participants to the various disciplines of engineering through engaging activities.

This program is designed for rising 9th- to 12th-grade students and provides an introduction to engineering through research-based field experiences. Students will explore different engineering disciplines each day of the week as they learn about various engineering research labs at the University of Maryland. Students will learn how to read and write scientific research papers, participate in at-home friendly experiments, and engage with current Maryland Engineering undergraduate students.

As a bonus, students will be familiarized with the engineering entrance requirements for college. Students that are interested in obtaining an engineering degree with have the chance to work with Clark School of Engineering staff to plan out what courses to take in high school to prepare for a college engineering program.
