    Overview

Ready to jump-start your college journey? As an incoming UCI student, you are invited to get a headstart on earning credits, connecting with professors, and making new friends. Your success starts now! Enjoy the opportunity to embrace UCI and everything it has to offer at a time when the campus is more relaxed from the peak occupancy of the academic year.

    Summer Boost

Summer Boost offers incoming Freshman and Transfer students the opportunity to get a headstart on their experience at UCI by choosing a list of courses pre-approved by advisors from your school of major or consider enrolling in preselected course pairings, aimed at helping you make the most impact on your major in just one summer session.

Looking to get ahead on your math requirement over the summer? Many majors require students to take some version of Calculus and using the summer to start that coursework can help give you more flexibility in your Fall schedule.

    Summer Bridge

Summer Bridge is a 6-week summer residential program designed to provide incoming UCI students an opportunity to make the best possible academic and social transition from high school to college. Students earn UCI credit and get a head start working towards their degree while meeting other new students, staff, and faculty. After the summer, scholars receive additional benefits throughout the academic year including: personalized guidance from a professional staff member, peer mentoring, priority enrollment, tutoring scholarships, rental books, skill-building workshops, and community-building opportunities.

    Summer Bridge Scholarship

Approximately 120-150 first generation and/or income eligible students will be offered a full or partial Summer Bridge Scholarship. Recipients enroll in a specified set of courses and are required to live in program housing. Summer Bridge Scholarship recipients receive advising and sign up for fall classes during their Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP).
