Crane Youth Music (CYM) is an open enrollment camp for young musicians ages 12 - 18 who have completed 2 years of instrumental or voice study through their school programs and/or private lessons. The daily schedule will include Master Classes with Crane Faculty, Ensemble Rehearsals, Elective courses and recreational time on the beautiful SUNY Potsdam campus.

All students attend master classes taught by master teachers, perform in large group ensembles, and have the opportunity to receive training in music theory and aural skills. • String performers participate in string sectionals and chamber music groups in addition to orchestra.

    • String performers will have opportunities to play in small chamber music groups in addition to orchestra.

Many CYM alumni are performing in major symphonies or teaching in universities and schools nationally. Recreational activities are available in the afternoon and evening concerts include performances by student groups, visiting artist-performers, and Crane faculty. In addition to classes and rehearsals, there will be recreational activities and evening concerts. CYM campers will once again have the opportunity to attend concerts featuring professional artists.
