    The St. Francis Yacht Club offers junior sailing camps for all kids ages 7-16. With two sailing camp options in the City and on Tinsley Island, it is easy to find the perfect camp for your child! Beginner, intermediate or advanced everyone will learn new skills!


    The Tinsley Island Camp

    This once in a lifetime sleep away sailing camp experience is designed for beginning and intermediate level sailors between the ages of 8 - 15 years. Sailors will spend the week learning to sail Optimists, O'Pen Bic's, Bytes, Lasers and Windsurfers. Many other camp activities and games will include; kayaking, paddle boarding, land games and pool time. Campers are required to stay in the Tinsley Island Bunkhouse and three gourmet meals per day are prepared by the camp chef. Drop off and pick up is at King Island Marina, Stockton, CA. Drop off time is by 10:30am on Monday morning and pick up time is Friday afternoon at 3:00pm.

    The City Front Camp

    Each City Front camp session is designed for the beginning and intermediate level sailor between the ages of 7 - 16 years. Classes will be taught using O’Pen Bic's, Optimists, Bytes, Club 420's, and Windsurfers. Beginning classes will cover topics including: rigging, points of sail, capsizing, tacking, gybing, and basic safety. Intermediate classes will move on to topics such as: sail trim, weight placement, tactics, starting, and the racing rules of sailing. Alternative land-based activities will be conducted in the event of inclement weather. Classes are held from 9am to 4pm. As a courtesy, please drop-off and pick-up sailors on time.
