    Overview

Spanish in Nature specializes in teaching Spanish in a home environment to students aged 12-17. Spanish is taught by native speakers through lessons as well as through cultural and sports activities. Our goal is to help students to improve their Spanish language skills while living with a carefully-selected host family north of Madrid.

This Spanish-immersion homestay and camp experience, which is limited to 20 boys and girls, takes place in the Madrid mountain range, Guadarrama National Park, just 40 minutes’ drive from downtown Madrid.

Each student is placed in a beginner, intermediate, or advanced group, with a maximum of eight per group. We believe that learning can’t be confined to the classroom, so we combine study with fun in our breathtaking mountains.

Our Spanish classes are varied and dynamic. Every day starts with conversation about the activity we did the day before, and the plans for the afternoon. We use games, books, and movies, and we converse about our food, traditional parties, sports, and so on. We hold classes in our bright, comfortable classrooms, and in various areas in our garden. Our school has Wi-Fi and a library, swimming pool, basketball court, garden, and henhouse. Our students learn through cultural and adventure outings and camp experiences.

Each child lives as a member of a carefully-chosen, trusted host family in our village. The children have breakfast with their family, and the parents drop the child off each morning with a packed lunch. We see the family in the morning and again when they pick up the child in the evening. Most families participate in weekend trips with us.

Students will improve their Spanish by leaps and bounds and delight in a summer of new experiences: all-day Spanish with qualified native speakers; outdoor adventures, fully supervised by trained, caring professionals; and enjoying home life with their host family. They will gain confidence in their independence and social skills.
