    • My 14 yo son had a wonderful time and said it was one of the best camps he has ever attended. He had positive feedback on the guides who were very kind and skilled. As a family who hasn't previously backpacked, it was helpful that Lasting Adventures provided the main backpacking supplies including the backpack, sleeping bag, and pad so that we didn't have to incur those expenses. I had heard about the experience from a friend whose son had attended two prior years and raved about his experience as well.

    • I am a 14yo from Tokyo who attended the 6 day backpacking summer camp. It was my first time backpacking or camping so I was a complete beginner but the guides(Lydia and Maddie) were super friendly and helped me throughout the entire trip. They were eager to teach us everything they could so I was able to pick up fundamental skills like reading maps, using stoves, collecting firewood, and most importantly, being hydrated. I also loved the yoga we did in the morning! Though the walk was tough, the beautiful views and campsites made all the struggles worth it. Every night, we saw bright shooting stars from our sleeping bags, and played fun games and formed a strong bond within the group. Overall, the trip was absolutely amazing and I will definitely be going back next year!

    • My twelve year old Son and his three buddies did the one-week hike through Yosemite with Lasting Adventures. They had a blast hiking over 29 miles of this California treasure. The hiking was challenging, but not exhausting. My son said the scenery was amazing and wished we had been there to share it with him. He said the camp food experience was good and didn't leave him hungry after meals. Lasting adventures made sure the kids' packs were stuffed appropriately with gear & food. When asked if he'd like to return next year....we got a hands down, "ABSOLUTELY!!!"

    • Lasting Adventures just provided two weeks of a transformative experience for my daughter. I/we are pleased beyond expectations. While her departing words to me were, "Why are you doing this to me?" after two 6-day loops in Yosemite I was excitedly greeted by her boasting appreciation for nature, belief in her self and reinvigorated attitude about making new friends and building community. Scott and his guides have a great sense of how to introduce the kids to backpacking and to gently push them to take on greater challenges. For a not-yet 14-year old to say about Lasting Adventures that, "This is a great organization," resonates strongly. At best, I was hoping for my daughter to find the High Sierras a beautiful place to be and to acquire a few skills in self-sufficiency. A deeper sense of self-confidence, descriptions of the beautiful lakes and waterfalls and the arduous climb to see the sunrise from Half Dome tell me that this experience will stay with her a lifetime. AND, she wants to come back next year for more. Hallelujah, kudos and many thanks!

    • Tanner and Ryley had game changing experiences with Lasting Adventures. The guides were wonderful people, full of optimism and joy, the sites and sights were incredible. Our boys came back happier, more relaxed, more open to the world and with a better understanding of the beauty and wonder of nature. I can't thank Scott enough plus the rest of the crew whose names I remember: Maddie, Rory, Kai, Chrissy, et al. Tanner wants to go back next year to be a junior guide. A really fantastic experience.

    • Just got back from sending our son (6th grade) and his buddies. Five days four nights 20+ miles of hiking. Rained everyday, caught fish, and they created a lifetime of memories. They raved about the animals, food, fun, and GREAT guides: Sam, Trevor and Colin. I was a little apprehensive about sending a 11 yr old even though all the boys live in Truckee and are used to mountains, camping and being outdoors. Sam and the guides help make a lifetime of memories for our boys; kudos to them. The four are recruiting friends for 2014!!! Great preseason work out right before football also.
