    Overview

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth is more than a summer camp: Our on-campus summer courses bring together advanced learners from around the world to explore the arts and sciences, bioethics, engineering, public health, and more. CTY’s on-campus programs allow young scholars to expand their knowledge surrounded by a community of peers who share their love of learning.

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth knows bright kids.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth specializes in recognizing and developing the academic talents of advanced elementary, middle, and high school students. For more than 40 years, CTY has brought bright learners together each summer for three weeks of academic challenge, discovery, and opportunities to become friends with other kids who are excited about learning.

CTY offers On-Campus Summer Programs in residential and day formats at about 20 college, university, and independent-school campuses in the United States and Hong Kong. Students take one advanced-level course over a three-week session. Each course is led by an instructor and a teaching assistant who are skilled at teaching advanced concepts to pre-college students. Residential students live on campus with CTY staff surrounded by other bright students who share their love of learning. More than 100 courses in a variety of topics are available.

Residential programs for students in grades 5-12 are highly structured and include many group activities and all-campus events. Most courses for grades 7 and above cover roughly a college semester's worth of material, while fast-paced science courses cover roughly a year's worth of high school material. Weekends at residential sites feature talent shows, quiz bowls, and socials, as well as time to relax.
