    Overview

This is a 4-week, tuition free program for a select group of 15-17 year old teens seeking hands-on leadership skills development and potential future employment with Agassiz Village. Each candidate is required to apply for the position and is interviewed prior to their selection.

INSTEP is a 4-week internship program for a select group of 15 - 17 year-old young people seeking hands-on leadership skills development and potential future employment with Agassiz. Potential candidates are primarily selected from previous Agassiz Teen Advancement Program (TAP) campers, however new participants are also accepted.

The program puts into practice Agassiz Village’s vision of ‘Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leaders’ through the implementation of an intensive 4-week course, designed to engage, encourage and challenge the young people through the curriculum focused on Social & Emotional Learning. More than simply a route into potential employment at Agassiz Village, the course has been specifically engineered to empower young people and to create more confident, well-rounded and active young adults.

In today’s society where youth experience a multitude of challenges and juggle numerous responsibilities, this course looks to support and empower the participants to flourish once they leave Agassiz; to be able to achieve personal goals; to contribute to their schools or communities; and to have the confidence to stand up as a positive young leader in today’s society.
