High Mountain Institute: Summer Term

The HMI Summer Term unites wilderness expeditions, intentional community, and writing workshops for five amazing weeks.

On two backpacking expeditions, students learn how to travel and live well in the wilderness and expand their leadership understanding and opportunities.

On campus, students will receive the coaching and practice to turn their challenging wilderness experiences into a quality personal essay that can be used for college applications and beyond.

And all this will be done with a group of peers which quickly becomes a unique community of supportive friends who share both responsibility and deep belly laughs.
