    Overview

Global Scholar equips youth leaders to be bold and visionary change makers around urgent global challenges. Participants learn about global issues from experts, build tools to engage their peers and communities, and take the next steps in launching purposeful careers. Global Scholars learn with and from some of the brightest young minds working on these issues today.

    Join us to:

    • Explore urgent global challenges including global security, poverty, climate change, immigration, and human rights through seminars with experts working in government, think tanks, non-profit organizations, academia and more. Scholars also meet with embassies and Senate offices.
    • Build skills to be a bold and visionary global leader. Our popular Action Lab workshops give Scholars advanced training they won’t get anywhere else, focusing on: Dialogue and Empathy; Conflict Resolution; Complex Problem-Solving; Diversity and Inclusion; Strategic Action Planning; Strategic Communications, and more.
    • Do Big Things, Now. The world can’t wait for your brilliance, and neither can we. Throughout the program, Scholars apply knowledge and skills to craft and launch a meaningful project around a timely and critical global challenge, for example, climate change. We offer ongoing support for your change-making after the program is over too, through ongoing training, funding, and leadership development opportunities.
    • Launch your global career. Discover careers, schools, and opportunities in international affairs through career panels and small-group conversations with professionals working in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, as well as representatives from scholarship, fellowship, and study abroad programs. Scholars also learn professional skills like networking, writing a great resume, and more.
    • Build inspiring friendships with peers equally motivated to pursue leadership opportunities and careers in public and international affairs. The broader AMP Global Youth family is thousands strong worldwide.

Over 100,000 youth have participated in our programs since we were founded by students at Yale after 9/11, and our alumni have gone on to lead student organizations; work for international organizations, the UN, and the State Department; participate in prestigious gap year and language programs; and enroll at top institutions like Harvard, Columbia, Yale and the University of Chicago. Most importantly, they’ve developed a good sense of how they can have an impact on issues they care about and launched their careers with a firm understanding of the purpose and a strong set of skills to succeed.
