    Overview

Partner with Global Routes on one of our pre-developed custom programs, or ask us to design a program just for your group. Global Routes collaborates with schools, camps, and groups to facilitate profound enrichment opportunities for participants who wish to contribute to purposeful service projects in the US or abroad.

    OUR MODEL

Our custom programs focus on social and environmental justice and are rooted in experiential education. We provide authentic travel opportunities, collaboration with local experts and innovators, immersive experiences, and deep reflection.

Choose from one of our pre-designed Custom Programs or collaborate with us to design a program that is entirely unique to your group.  Our experienced staff offers expertise in program development and group facilitation to support you in building out your dream program from conceptualization to implementation.

    PROGRAM DESTINATION

Global Routes can customize almost any destination for your group. Typically, we start with locations where we have long-established programs and dedicated in-country staff. Given our 50-plus years in the field, we have deep relationships across the US, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia. *If you’re interested in a specific place, let us know! We have contacts and partners across the globe.

    PROGRAM INTERESTS

We can support individuals and/or groups with developing summer programs, alternative winter or spring break trips, Gap Year programs, and more. From our programs, many groups seek:

    • Meaningful community service
    • Social and environmental justice education
    • Authentic cross-cultural exchange
    • Ecologically responsible travel/adventure
    • Improved language skills
    • Strengthened group dynamics
    • Personal empowerment
    • Mastery of global competencies
    • Learning traditional arts, crafts, music, and customs
    • Exploration of the natural environment
    • Increased global awareness and global citizenship

    PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

Global Routes handles all aspects of program development and logistics: program itineraries, activities and budget, reservations for all accommodations, meals, international and in-country travel, and the selection, prep, and oversight of the host community service projects and homestay. We can also organize all other program components, including recreational, cultural, and adventure-based activities.

    STAFF SUPPORT

A lead staff member works closely with our partners throughout the planning process and will select the best field instructor to lead the program, create a communications plan to support the program in the field, and provide ongoing field support 24 hours a day.

    TESTIMONIALS

“Each year students return from their Global Routes Service Immersion program with a thirst to travel, a broadened view of the global world they encompass as well as a new perspective on what really matters to them. These programs challenge students to think globally and connect with diverse communities. Through these experiences, students recognize how similar we all are, no matter the miles between us.” - Marta Cabral, NDA Hingham

“All of the teenagers we have sent with Global Routes on their leadership training trip have walked away with valuable life lessons on communication, resilience, leadership, and teamwork.” - Gary, Summer Camp Director

"Our son … made new friends and had fantastic experiences that he will remember for the rest of his life. It was an invaluable experience in terms of developing his independence and confidence.” - Sharon, Leaders-in-Action, Parent
