    Overview

WYSE a week-long experiential learning program for high-achieving high school students. Students will experience an integrated and forward-thinking approach to the environment, while acquiring valuable “in-the-trenches” knowledge. Curriculum includes hands-on learning with industry leaders, international conservation experts, research scientists, and Washington insiders.

The WYSE program and curriculum changes each year as new science emerges and as new issues come to the forefront of environmental work. Our program is designed to have relevant content so that students are ready to tackle the world’s toughest environmental challenges.

The speakers and staff work with students to meet them where they are, support their ideas, and answer their most intense questions.

The WYSE experience is designed to immerse students in the world of environmental science and introduce them to the most complex environmental issues our world is currently facing.

Through field visits, speakers, and insider access, students gain the knowledge needed to begin or enhance their environmental learning journey.

The WYSE schedule is intense! It packs in the program speakers, field visits, simulation, and group discussions so that students get the most out of their time with us.

It is important for students to get the rest they need at night and be prompt and present during the day. The week is nonstop, but our alumni say it’s worth it!
