The Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP) is a selective, eight-week paid internship for rising 11th and 12th graders from underrepresented backgrounds in biomedical science. Starting with two weeks of lab safety and skills training at Fred Hutch’s Training Labs, interns then spend six weeks in a mentored research group in Seattle. SHIP also includes research seminars, college and career workshops, and social events, ending with presentations to the Fred Hutch community.
