    Overview

Wagner College’s Summer Pre-College Program provides students with an unforgettable experience in one of the most exciting cities in the world - New York.

     FM101 Introduction to Filmmaking

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of filmmaking and digital video production. Through hands-on exercises and lessons, students will gain the skills required to produce short films.  In coordination with their screenwriting course, students will write, plan, film, and edit their own original fiction films, making use of Wagner’s extensive film production equipment.

     FM322 Screenwriting I

This course will introduce students to the art of screenwriting, from formatting basics to techniques in dialogue and story structure. Students will study existing screenplays and watch films to hone their craft, while writing an original fiction screenplay to be produced in their production course.  Each screenplay will be critiqued and workshopped by their peers, mimicking the professional process of drafting and revising a screenplay.
