    Overview

In this virtual creative writing camp, writers will explore their identities and imaginations. Each day will focus on a different topic and genre: fantasy and sci fi; realistic fiction; poetry and slam poetry, and young adult fiction and fan fiction. Each day, students will read examples of published work, have a mini-lesson, and work on a writing prompt that explores identity or imagination, then come back to share our work and exchange encouragement and feedback.

This is a great way for teen writers to develop their creative voices, make friends, share their work, and receive individual feedback to help them grow their strengths as writers. Students will finish the week with a couple fully-finished pieces, loads of ideas for future projects, and a community of fellow creators. No previous creative writing experience required.
