STEM Saturdays students develop design, engineering and leadership skills as they create "Technology for Good" to solve a current or emerging problem or opportunity for their community. Taught by Cooper Union staff and students, participants design, analyze, build, test, and present their solution to a problem of their choice. The Cooper Union School of Engineering's Summer STEM Program provides an opportunity for 9th through 11th grade students explore, design, engineering and research in a college setting. Classes are inspired by current student and faculty research and first and second year class projects, including digital design, robotics, sustainability, and data science. Collaboration and communication are emphasized; students work on teams to complete and present a project.
2023 Programs will be announced January 30, 2023.
3 week in person programs for current 9th and 10th graders
4 week virtual and 6 week in person programs for current 10th and 11th graders
Students who attend the program and successfully complete the assignments will receive a certificate of completion from The Cooper Union.
