    Overview

Sababa means “No Worries,” and that’s exactly how our campers feel when they’re exploring ocean life in our program. What sets Sababa apart from other camps is its specialty programming that focuses on surfing, sailing, scuba, and ocean discovery. With truly unique specialty programming, the staff has built a stellar reputation for its commitment to helping young people grow.

Sababa Beachaway is a co-ed residential summer camp for rising fourth through twelfth graders, located in beautiful Virginia Beach, VA. Sababa immerses campers in the magic and majesty of the beach, adds the right amount of spiritual practice, and provides a fun, non-competitive yet challenging camp experience!

Sababa offers several session options ranging from 2 to 6 weeks that invite campers to escape the grind to ride the wave, catch the wind, explore the sea, and capture the moment. Whether on a surfboard, in a sailboat, or under the sea, Sababa campers learn exhilarating new skills, build lifelong relationships, grow a stronger sense of self, and stoke an innate spiritual flame. Sessions include beginner, intermediate, and advanced surf and sailing instruction, organized beach games, and Jewish spiritual activities for rising 4th-12th graders.

We also offer a Leader-in-Training (LIT) Program for rising 12th graders. Participants will gain leadership skills, mentor younger campers, and develop an understanding of Sababa values that they can bring back to their communities.
