Camp Wiyaka’s Leaders in Training (LIT) program offers young adults ages 15 an opportunity to build leadership skills, and be a positive influence the lives of others.
At age 16 the option to volunteer as a Counselor-In-Training is available. This is a volunteer staff position.
Camp Wiyaka is a traditional summer camp on the shores of Sandy Pond in Richmond, New Hampshire where children ages 7-15 have been exploring, discovering, and creating lasting friendships since 1921.
While still taking part in typical camper experiences (attending activities and participating in camp events), the Leaders in Training (LIT) program offers young adults unique opportunities and responsibilities separate from the rest of the camp. LIT’s will have the chance to host a campfire as a group, lead an all camp activity and assist younger campers on registration day. Teambuilding events and programs allow for the group to unite. Each LIT session is 2 weeks and the LIT participants are expected to remain at camp over the weekend in the middle of the session. During the weekends, LITs have an additional opportunity to be a team without the distractions of many other campers.
