    Overview

Camp Thayer programs, including all sports camps, are intentionally non-competitive, so that participants can strive for personal satisfaction and growth in whatever they do. Each week offers a different variety of Sports and Specialty Programs from track & field to football to Photoshop and science. Find out more!

General Camp - Ages 6-13 • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  At Camp Thayer’s General Camp, children enjoy a variety of activities and are grouped with other campers their age. Groups are co-ed for grades 1 - 6. To encourage free expression and a sense of unity, girls and boys entering grades 7 and 8 are placed in single-sex groups. All activities provide kids with opportunities for new experiences or with time to spend on a favorite interest. These include sports, drama, music, dance, computers, pottery, sailing, and a ropes course. Extended day options are available for each of the programs. Lunch is served daily in the Cahall Dining Hall for all groups.

CIT Program - Ages 14 - 16 • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  CIT's work as apprentices to our head and senior counselors. Participants develop leadership and interpersonal skills. As part of their training, CIT's get a working knowledge of the many activities and program areas offered by Camp Thayer. Each week will be limited to 25 CITs. The application deadline is March 10, 2017. An interview and references are required. Candidates should submit an application, then contact Kristan Gately (kgately@thayer.org) after March 27, to schedule an interview.
