The Photography and Film Making TrackThe Journalism/Social Media Track ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHY/FILM MAKING AND JOURNALISM TRACKS
While girls who enroll in this program share the campus with the rock camp, it is really a separate experience with separate classrooms, instructors, and workshops. Girls enrolled in this program have the amazing opportunity of being junior photographers and writers for the Santa Barbara Independent.
Each day the girls produce work that is then released online with the publication. These girls also have the opportunity to interview not only our own blossoming bands but also the lunchtime guest performers. Girls Rock SB provides all the equipment and brings in an array of very talented photographers and writers from all over the country. The photography and journalism programs are open to girls ages 10–17. More information can be found at our website.
Girls in every track will have the opportunity to meet other girls and female musicians and mentors, as well as participate in enrichment activities such as fun and meaningful workshops (see below for a list of past popular workshops).
WHO: Any self-identified "gal" 10–17 years old is encouraged to apply. Prior music experience is not required. All instruments and equipment are provided.
