Spend your summer exploring international affairs at one of the nation’s top schools for global studies, American University’s School of International Service (SIS). The Community of Scholars program invites high-achieving rising juniors and seniors (minimum 3.0 GPA) to experience college life while earning three transferable college credits.
Students take rigorous courses focused on diplomacy, security, conflict, and culture, guided by expert AU faculty. The three-week hybrid format includes two weeks on AU’s Washington, D.C. campus and a final week online, blending academic challenge with hands-on learning.
Outside the classroom, participants visit government agencies, embassies, and global organizations, gaining a front-row view of how leaders address real-world challenges. Residential students live in AU dorms and dine on campus, while commuter students join daytime and many evening activities.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Don’t miss this chance to expand your global perspective and prepare for a future of international impact through AU’s Community of Scholars program.
