The mission of The Winston School San Antonio is to provide a personalized college preparatory education for students with average to high potential and identified learning differences. A Winston School graduate is confident, well-rounded and a lifelong self-advocate.
Our primary mission is to offer a personalized college preparatory education for students with average to high potential and identified learning differences. A WSSA graduate is confident, well-rounded and a lifelong self-advocate. We utilize a variety of research based programs such as SIM Writing Program, Lexia Learning Program, a self-paced reading program, time-tested techniques such as core classes in specific subjects in which students are grouped by ability rather than age, and access to technology in each classroom and multiple computer labs.
Our secondary mission is to serve as a community resource for training, diagnosis, information and research. Examples of these include annual placement for two Trinity Graduate Psychology interns in our Diagnostic Testing Department, our annual Learning Disabilities Symposium, and high school requirement that each student perform a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service in the community. Our award-winning Rotary Earlyact and Interact clubs give thousands of hours of service each year.
