    Overview

Our Student Programs are field-based, authentic, dynamic experiences for small groups of students to become part of our conservation efforts. As we strive to develop and support traditions that sustain wildness, our work is anchored in the principles of conservation biology, supported by field research and localized community planning.

Round River Conservation Studies is an ecological research and education organization whose goal is the formulation and implementation of conservation strategies that conserve and restore wildness. We recognize that flourishing wildness and wild places are important in, and of, themselves.

Round River believes landscapes are powerful educators. Our wildlife conservation study abroad programs are designed to involve small groups of students in ongoing research projects that are finding and implementing solutions to real conservation and environmental issues.

The efforts of these students contribute significantly to the larger conservation initiatives of Round River and our local partners.

We currently offer 9-credit Summer programs in the Taku River Watershed of British Columbia and the Darhad Valley in Mongolia. We also offer 15-credit semester programs in the Okavango Delta of Botswana, southern Chilean Patagonia, the Maya Golden Landscape of Belize, and the Darhad Valley in Mongolia. Our programs are also suitable for non-credit-seeking gap year students and those wishing to significantly enhance their field skills. Contact us for more information and to ensure you are a good fit!
