STEM Saturdays students develop design, engineering and leadership skills as they create "Technology for Good" to solve a current or emerging problem or opportunity for their community. Taught by Cooper Union staff and students, participants design, analyze, build, test, and present their solution to a problem of their choice. Students also work with Cooper Union Alumni and industry professionals to get feedback on their projects and expand their knowledge of STEM careers.
Students enrolled in a New York City high school or living in New York City can apply.
No design or engineering experience needed.
Priority is given to students that identify with a group underrepresented in engineering careers.
All classes meet Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm with a lunch break at 41 Cooper Square.
There is no cost for admitted students. Students also receive materials, lunch and snacks, and metrocard.
