    Overview

    We are looking for low-income high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing healthcare in any capacity (MD, research, nursing, etc). These students will be grouped into cohorts with similar interests and will be mentored by undergraduate college students.

    Cohorts will consist of 3-4 mentees that will meet consistently during the summer to learn about college applications, financial aid, resume building, and much much more as well as meeting throughout the year to continue this support.

    The Student Healthcare Readiness Program (SHRP) is looking for incoming low-income high school juniors and seniors from across the US, interested in pursuing healthcare in any capacity to join our Medical Mentors Program as a mentee. Mentees can be interested in pursuing a medical degree, research, nursing, veterinary sciences, and more.

    This 100% free and virtual program will have mentees grouped into cohorts based on grade level and similar interests while being mentored by pre-med undergraduate college students from UCSD, CSUSM, and UCSC. Cohorts will consist of 3-4 mentees that will meet consistently during the summer to learn about college applications, financial aid, resume building, internships, and much much more as well as meeting throughout the year to continue this support by their mentor.
