The Dance Excellence Scholarship provides outstanding dancers the opportunity to pursue their career goals in the Pre-Professional division of the Steps on Broadway Academy. Each year, dancers ages 14-17 are awarded $25,000 in scholarship funds to support their training as members of this elite program.
Adjudicators look for dancers who demonstrate leadership within their community, showcase dedication and passion in classes and performances, and are fully committed to the Pre-Professional training schedule. Applicants for the scholarship must be a US Citizen or permanent resident. Scholarships are limited and may vary by year. Finalists may be asked to attend callbacks in NYC during the week of June 2-3, 2025 Applications for the 2025 – 2026 Dance Excellence Scholarship are due now through May 1st.
ABOUT THE PRE-PROFESSIONAL DIVISION
The Pre-Professional Division at the Steps Academy provides training for aspiring professionals in an atmosphere that promotes artistic excellence, strong technique, and a sense of community. Dancers invited to participate in this audition-only program are encouraged to find their creative voice as they gain the building blocks for success.
Through rigorous training and participation in numerous performance opportunities, graduates of the Pre-Professional division flourish in elite college dance programs, conservatories, and dance companies, and can be seen in commercial work and on Broadway.
