    Overview

The Tradition and Modernity in Taiwan program is a 4-week summer trip that provides students with the opportunity to learn Mandarin and the culture of Taiwan.

Students can expect an immersive introduction to Mandarin Chinese as they explore Taiwan. They will engage with locals and complete hands-on coursework on the contemporary issues of Taiwan. Students will think critically about how Taiwan has responded to recent challenges and how they have grown and developed over the years. While no previous knowledge of Mandarin is required to join this program, applicants must be 18 years or older. This gap year study abroad program is truly perfect for students who are eager to learn a new language and experience a new culture in a unique way.
