Mission Statement

The Walk for Hunger® is the oldest and largest community fundraiser to alleviate hunger in Massachusetts and solve its root causes! Founded in 1969 by Massachusetts non-profit Project Bread, the event is a celebration of the strength of community, and what we can accomplish when we act together.

2020 Event Details: The Walk for Hunger is a one day community event, and the oldest and largest community fundraiser for hunger solutions in Massachusetts! Always the first Sunday in May, thousands of people—of all ages, backgrounds, faiths, communities, and cultures—come together to raise the issue of hunger and raise funds to help neighbors have enough to eat, everyday. It was founded in 1969 and 2020 marks the 52nd Walk for Hunger!

The 2020 Walk for Hunger is on Sunday, May 3 on Boston Common.

All events for The Walk for Hunger start and finish on Boston Common, between Beacon & Charles St. This is also where check-in and day-of registration take place.

In 2019, 8,500 people participated in The Walk for Hunger, the more people, the bigger a difference we can have to support anti-hunger solutions in the coming year. Register as an individual, form a team, or if you can't make it, just create a fundraising page to support the cause!
