Texas State University-San Marcos is a public, student-centered, emerging research university dedicated to excellence in serving the educational needs of the diverse population of Texas and the world beyond.

Texas State's more than 36,000 students choose from 97 bachelors, 88 masters and 12 doctoral degree programs offered by the following colleges: Applied Arts, McCoy College of Business Administration, Education, Fine Arts and Communication, Health Professions, Liberal Arts, Science and Engineering, University College and The Graduate College. As an Emerging Research University, Texas State offers opportunities for discovery and innovation to faculty and students.

Our students come from around the globe, and our student body is diverse. Forty-two percent of Texas State students are ethnic minorities. Hispanic Outlook magazine ranks Texas State 18th in the nation in Hispanic undergraduate enrollment and 23rd in the nation for total degrees awarded to Hispanic students.
