Known for its breathtaking national parks, safaris on which the "big five" exotic animals are often spotted, and Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is a beautiful country in East Africa. Volunteers on gap year programs to Tanzania often work on several projects. These projects include teaching and promoting the importance of safe water and good hygiene practices as well as a reforestation project which helps protect the country's fragile ecosystems.
