Semester schools offer semester-long educational opportunities for high school students, often in their junior year. Students leave their sending schools for one semester, in the fall or spring, and return with one semester of high school credit. These schools are located in the United States and abroad. Some semester schools offer students the chance to specialize in a subject, such as the arts, a foreign language, or science. Some may offer specialized sports opportunities or the chance to study in a different state or country for a semester.
