The landscape of higher education is evolving, and, at Southern New Hampshire University, we’re proud to say that we’re evolving with it. We have embraced the changing marketplace at every turn, and rushed head-on to meet the new challenges it poses.

One such challenge has been the growing demand for engineering and other STEM-related programs. As more and more students enter college with the goal of earning high-paying jobs after graduation, the ability to offer a first-rate education to those hoping to enter a wide range of scientific industries is more important than ever.

Rising to the Challenge of STEM

We’ve risen to meet this challenge by launching our new College of Engineering, Technology, and Aeronautics (CETA). At SNHU, we have always measured our success by our students’ success, and this new college allows us to better serve our students’ needs both now and into the future.

"They have an idea of what they want to be, and they want a university that's going to provide them with a learning environment to be able to succeed in that," says James Smith, CETA’s executive vice president. "And clearly, they want a pathway to a job."

Guiding students along the path to their career goals has always been one of our strengths. And the results speak for themselves: We’ve placed graduates at world-class companies and organizations ranging from Disney World to the Boston Celtics to the Department of Homeland Security. But, we believe it’s the way we go about it that makes us truly special.

We empower our students. We empower them to shape their own educations, but, more than that, we empower them to seek out the experience they need to find success in their fields of study. Our Career and Professional Development Center posts over 1,500 internship and job listings each year, and with career development opportunities built directly into our curriculum, our goal is to ensure that every student who leaves SNHU does so fully prepared to enter the workforce.

Investing $50M in the Future

Over the next three years, SNHU will invest $50 million in CETA, an investment that includes the construction of a new, state-of-the-art academic building for the college and its engineering and aeronautics labs. SNHU Online has given us access to resources that outpace many other colleges, and we will continue to use those resources to make improvements to our campus, expand our major programs, and make a high-quality private education accessible to as many students as possible.
