Multimedia Camp is a hands-on opportunity for students to gain better understanding of how society is influenced by media and technology.
Participants will learn and discuss various forms of media including social networking, blogging, wikis, newscasts, advertisements and media sharing while also dabbling in programming. Using provided pocket cameras, digital cameras, laptops, a green screen and other tools and software, students will create a real world project that will include multimedia elements appropriate for the 21st century. Possible projects could include:
Creating a television or radio advertisement using iMovie or GarageBand.
Creating and participating in a newscast.
Creating an informational blog.
Using Photoshop to create visual advertisements.
Creating a website.
Creating and performing in a movie.
Creating a multimedia marketing campaign using various elements of social media.
Two weeks of fun and interactive learning will conclude with an opportunity for students to present their work and display their innovation and creativity. New and returning campers will both find many challenges during the now two-week session of camp.
