Have an unforgettable summer at New York YMCA Camp! Our camp is for boys and girls ages 7 to 15 from all over the world. There are two villages, McAlister (ages 7 to 11) and Talcott (ages 11 to 15), which are located on our 1,150 acre property in Huguenot, NY.
Just a sample of activities that we offer are swimming lessons, a wide variety of sports, arts and crafts, outdoor living skills, media program, canoeing, Wibit, and our ropes courses. We also offer specialty programs that include water skiing, horseback riding, and rafting trips for a small additional fee.
13 to 15 year olds are able to make sophisticated decisions about their activities. These are the oldest campers housed at Talcott Village. Their first day of camp is spent with their cabin and divisional groups and sample a range of activities in camp. At the end of this day they select from camp’s activities for the rest of the week. Talcott campers have additional activities that are offered only to this age group. Activities are designed to run for 45 or 90 minute periods and there are four to eight periods per day.
16 + 17 year olds are able to join our CIT Program where they learn important life skills while still having fun at camp this summer! The CIT program is for boys and girls that are 16 years old by June 1, 2017. Led by our Teen Directors, CITs will discover, learn and gain valuable real world expereince in public speaking, resume building, college planning, and several other skills needed to work in a social field.
