University of Georgia Summer Academy: Photography
Overview
At the UGA Photography Camp we'll start by exploring the fundamentals of photography, such as building pinhole cameras, creating photograms and developing prints in a darkroom.
Then you'll learn to successfully use your DSLR in manual mode as you explore digital techniques in lighting, composition and post-production. We'll look at the history of photography and look at the work of contemporary photographers. The majority of each day will be spent taking photographs in many different styles at locations in and around the University campus and Athens, with time spent later in the week learning the basics of photo editing. You will leave the camp with an online portfolio of your work to share with others and memories to last a lifetime. Note: Students are responsible for bringing a Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera to camp with them.
