S.P.I.C.E. Camp is a one-week commuter program for young women who will be entering the 9th and 10th grade next fall and would like to learn more about engineering. Students will be introduced to the world of engineering through projects, tours, and guest speakers.
Each activity is intended to highlight the relevance of engineering in our daily life and how engineering can work to improve societal problems. All activities will be supervised by current engineering students and conducted in a safe learning environment at the Unversity of Maryland, College Park.
As a bonus, students will be familiarized with the engineering entrance requirements for college. Students that are interested in obtaining an engineering degree with have the chance to work with Clark School of Engineering staff to plan out what courses to take in high school to prepare for a college engineering program.
Cost and Session Information
Date: June 22- June 26, 2015
Monday - Friday
The $350 cost per student covers all project materials, transportation once on campus, and a morning and afternoon snack. Students should plan to bring their lunch. Payments should only be sent after student has been admitted to the program.
Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm
