    Overview

    Indulge in your passions.

Watercolor is a popular medium for professional artists and illustrators. Historically, the scale of watercolors has ranged from the miniature to the monumental, and the portability of watercolor has made it the favored medium for travelers.

Offered during session 3 our one-week watercolor course allows students the opportunity to explore a number of techniques and styles created with both transparent and opaque watercolor, also known as gouache.

Supplies for this course will be provided.

Come learn from Kathryn Myers Professor of Art for UConn's Art and History Department.  Myers has been a watercolor artist and teacher for over three decades. Her early work in transparent watercolor were large-scale narratives and her recent work in transparent watercolor and gouache are intimately scaled cityscapes of India.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: After careful consideration and comprehensive discussions with many who are deeply invested in the health and education of our students, we have decided that the most responsible course of action is to cancel all Pre-College Summer 2020 sessions. Unfortunately, the Program's focus on providing a residential experience with hands-on courses does not make online learning a realistic or feasible option.  For more information please visit the website!
