The Hotchkiss Summer Environmental Science program is a cumulative, field-based, two-tier program that introduces key concepts in environmental science and encourages students to become stewards of natural resources on a local, national, and global level.
Everyone knows that we humans have to do a better job of understanding, restoring, and preserving our natural environment, and to do this, we need a whole new crop of young, talented, and well educated scientists. That’s where you come in. If you’re a student, 12 to 15 years old, who is enthusiastic about learning and not afraid of getting a little muddy, we need you. We need you to learn all about environmental science so that you can go on to help our planet become as healthy a place as possible. To do this, you’ll need a great program where you can learn from passionate teachers and experienced researchers, where you can put into practice out in the field what you’ve studied in the lab, and where you can get connected to on-going environmental studies so that you can make a real difference in the world. That’s where we come in. The Hotchkiss Summer Environmental Science (SES) Program will help you do all this.
